Siempre en mi mente
Siempre en mi mente by Alex Ubago, is a song about a guy who would love to forget about a girl if only he knew how: La solución no sé cómo encontrarla….Quiero olvidarte y yo no sé cómo te olvido. Enjoy a great song and video and learn more about elision of vowels and different translations for en. ¡Qué se diviertan!

Aviones de Cristal
Aviones de cristal, Alex Ubago’s third CD, is fantastic as is this song. While the most obvious thing is the Spanish pronunciation, there are some beautiful metaphors — barcos de papel mojado and aviones de cristal, to name just two.

Si no te hubieras ido
Si no te hubieras ido sería tan feliz…. I really like this song, especially as done by Maná, although Marco Antonio Solis, who wrote the song, sings a really nice version as well. Si no te hubieras ido is a fantastic song and a great fun way to add to your vocabulary and learn new expressions. It’s great exposure to pronunciation as well. ¡Qué se diviertan!

Gracias a la vida
Gracias a la vida que me ha dado tanto…. Written and first sung by Violeta Parra, Gracias a la vida is a song filled with irony — Violeta Parra, the Joan Baez of Chilé, singing “Thanks to life, which has given me so much…” only two years before her suicide during the horrific regime of Pinochet. Sung by Joan Baez

Pegadito
El sol calienta más de la cuenta en días de invierno…. Pegadito is great song by Tommy Torres, a singer, songwriter and producer sin igual. Along with others, this fantastic tune will take your pronunciation and vocabulary way beyond classroom Spanish. ¡Disfrútala!
